AGH, THE ANGST OF IT ALL WAS JUST... AMAZING.
I was wondering whether it would live up to my expectations, 'cause I was getting pretty damn excited about the whole thing. But apart from it being slightly slow in the middle... oh, god it did.
Okay, let's start from the beginning.
+ I lol'd irl when there was that woman (Adalaine's daughter and grandaughter) who everyone thought was Rose. And lol, not it was not! Just... lol. My family wondered what was so funny.
+ When they showed that orange suit my brother was like, 'He wore that in that devil episode!!' LIRL.
+ Everyone in this episode I liked, if not loved, to pieces. It made it even more heartbreaking. Adelaide was rather awesome.
+ LOL @ the Doctor knowing about all of their deaths because of some sort of wiki page.
+ And gadget. LOL, I loved that thing. It should have been annoying but it wasn't.
+ Creepy things were sufficiently creepy.
THANK YOU, RTD. For telling us all that 50 years in the future we are "almost extinct." That's always good to hear.
+ Every single emo speech of the Doctor's was emo beyond belief. I'm surprised he didn't cry at some points.
+ That scene with the slow music, and faded dialogue, as the Doctor's leaving (I think). That got me. I had tears.
+ There was a Dalek, lol!! I don't know why I'm surprised.
+ I admit to not remembering a lot of the middle part of the episode. It was toward the end when it got really angsty, and I was on the edge of my seat that I started paying attention properly...
+ "Once upon a time there were people in charge of those laws, but they died. They all died... it's taken me years to realise the laws of time are MINE. AND THEY WILL OBEY ME!" :0 WHAT... BUT, TEN, WHAT ARE YOU...? O:
+ I actually thought they'd died when it blew up, and it looked like they were all still inside. I know it should have been obvious, certainly for the Doctor, but...
+ "Sure, I've saved some little people. But never someone as important as you." WHAT. THE. FUCK. Who are you and what have you done to my Doctor? "For a long time now, I thought I was just a survivor, but I'm not. I'm a winner." DD: TEN. WHAT THE HELL, STOP MAKING ME HATE YOU.
+ He decided that they should live when they were supposed to die. Remember what Mr Copper said in VotD. "...if you could choose, Doctor, if you decide who lives and who dies... that would make you a monster." Or something like that. Oh, GOD.
+ HE NEEDS SOMEONE TO STOP HIM. OR HE EITHER DIES (as in TL) OR BECOMES SOME SORT OF GOD. Shows how important a companion is, I suppose.
+ WTF SHE KILLED HERSELF. OMG. THIS IS FAMILY VIEWING, IT ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE TORCHWOOD BUT IT REMINDED ME OF FROBISHER KILLING HIMSELF AND HIS FAMILY. D:
+ RTD, YOU WONDERFUL BASTARD.
+ IT'S NICE TO SEE HE REALISES WHAT HAS BECOME WITH HIS, "I've gone too far," line. It seems he's lost the plot, just a little. Or a lot. I kind of like it.
+ Ood Sigma! "Is it my time?" OH DOCTOR. ;_;
+ Then the Doctor alone in the TARDIS. And his "No!" I had chills. He doesn't want to die. *CRIES*
+ This was an area of Doctor Who we've never seen before, though. The Doctor, mad with power.
PERHAPS EVEN MORE ANGSTY THAN CHILDREN OF EARTH.
THE MASTER. BAD DREAMS. DONNA AND WILF. THE END OF TIME. OHYEAH IS IT CHRISMAS YET?. (although I heard somewhere the first xmas special one wasn't called The End of Time?? But w/e.)
ALSO:
WTF?ROFL @ SKELETOR!MASTER.
Overall? Possibly one of my very favourites ever. Despite the emo, and the fact I almost ended up hating Ten. THE LAST FIFTEEN MINUTES ESPECIALLY WERE EPIC.
